Joining an HBC Ride as a Guest
Not a member but see a ride on the calendar you’d like to join? We’re happy to have guests!
To join as a guest:
Please follow the directions in the calendar event to meet us at the ride start.
Be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride begins.
When the ride leader begins to assemble the group, please introduce yourself as a guest and sign our ride waiver.
The ride leader can help you sort out your pace and others that might be going the same pace and distance.
Curious about pace?
Naturally, most guests are curious about the pace of a typical HBC ride. While the pace can vary depending on the attendance of the ride, you can typically expect an HBC ride to be made up of 30 - 50 riders on good weather days. The group will split into smaller pace-based groups once we get on the road. When the groups are very large the ride leader may stagger start groups based on pace. You can expect to find pace groups between 15 MPH and 20+ MPH, unless otherwise noted in the ride description.
Be sure to introduce yourself to the ride leader and share the pace you intend to go so he/she can point you to the right group to stick with for the ride.
