Announcing New Club Member Benefits: Local Bike Shop Partners!

The Harpeth Bike Club Board of Directors is pleased to announce a significant enhancement to your HBC member benefits.

The HBC and several local bike shops (LBS) recently formed a partnership program to offer HBC members substantial discounts on select retail stock items. The discounts of 10% to 15% will be offered upon request only to HBC members. Currently three local bike stores are participating in the program, including RB’s, MOAB, and Trek. Additional stores will be added as the program expands. 

Additionally, as part of HBC’s expanding partnership with the LBS community, we also will be posting LBS rides and events in our monthly calendar on the HBC website. Our members want options, information about rides close to their home or work, and this will provide more options for them. We believe that more options will provide more opportunities for cyclists to ride safely with other like-minded individuals. We recognize that as a good thing for the cycling community, and our new LBS Partnership program is a step toward facilitating that momentum. This also creates a more significant HBC and LBS presence in the communities we serve, affording us a greater voice for advocacy of safe cycling initiatives and other cycling programs seeking to improve the middle TN cycling environment. We believe this is a win-win-win scenario for the cyclist, Harpeth Bike Club, and the LBS.

Beginning in the fall we will incorporate the LBS’ events and rides into our monthly calendar. This will include live links, enabling you to click on the link to go directly to our calendar. This allows our members to be aware of unique events offered by the LBS’ (manufacturer’s showcase, charity events, etc.), and provides more diverse riding opportunities in different areas of our community.  

Of note, the LBS’ now have more incentive to send their customers to the HBC website for group ride information, which in turn helps grow our membership. Also, after someone buys a new bike or moves to town they often don’t know where to ride or who to ride with, and this is a great opportunity for us to showcase the benefits of joining the HBC, the beauty of middle TN cycling, and warmly welcoming a new member into our club. 

So, spread the word…the HBC / LBS Partnership Program is live! Be sure to visit your LBS soon and be sure to visit the HBC website for regular updates.
