HBC Update - Week of March 23
The HBC Board meeting tonight was conducted by phone video conference! Because of the ongoing COVID-19 emergency, all Harpeth Bike Club rides and activities have now been suspended indefinitely. The Board deemed this to be in the best interests of our members and the community in general, since it now appears that the necessity of social distancing will extend beyond the April 5 date that had previously been set. We all want to ride, and we'll let you know as soon as our ride schedule and Prime Season can begin.
We must comply with the directives that are being determined by governmental authorities. At this time, outdoor exercise, including cycling, is recommended for both our physical and mental health. But we must modify our usual riding habits in the interests of public health and personal safety. Walk Bike Nashville has suggested the guidelines available at this link:
Walk Bike Nashville Guidelines
Our State has limited gatherings to no more than ten people, and Cycling USA discourages all group rides. If you choose to ride, ride solo or in very small, spaced-out groups.
As previously announced, our kickoff events and skills clinic will be put back on the agenda as soon as we can!
Thank you very much – here’s wishing you all good health!
