Saturday, Dec. 7 - 9:00 A.M. - Polar Bear Ride - Steaming to Knob Around! - Hillsboro Elementary School in Leipers Fork, 5412 Pinewood Rd. - For this Saturday, Durk has a fascinating route that puts the roads together in a novel way. It's amazing that it takes in the full length of both Shoals Branch and Knob Creek and is still only 53 miles long! There is a Short option of 40 miles. The two routes are concurrent for the first 24 miles all the way down Steammill Hollow, after which the Long riders will climb Martin Ervin while the Short riders go directly to Wilson Fly's rustic store. The Long riders have the usual rest stop at Santa Fe before climbing the rest of that Pike up to Hwy. 7, which they'll descend before the long run on Knob Creek with the steep final climb to Theta.
