Saturday looks like another mild day, and Durk has created yet another challenging route down to and beyond Santa Fe.  We'll have the early climb on Raleigh-Elam Road and still traverse Turkey Creek.  After a stop at Santa Fe at mile 26, the long 50-mile route gets up to Theta by way of Haywood Hollow and Gravel Hill.  (Question of the Week: Can you name all seven ways up to Theta?)  The Short option is 40 miles.  It travels with the Long route for the first 19 miles but then skips Turkey Creek and makes it to the Santa Fe market by Water Valley Road.  Then it goes home by Gaskill Branch and Skelley.  Here are the maps and cue sheets:

In the off-season we tend to ride a little easier and sometimes shorter due to the weather.  So we have decided to merge the Collegial Ride into the regular Saturday ride, which has a short option.  The Collegial ride has drawn great participation throughout the season, and we trust that those riders will fit in well on our winter rides.  We are most indebted to Amy Crownover and Bob Whitmer for initiating and leading the Collegial ride and making it such as asset to our club!  It will return when the weather warms up!
