White Bluff Wander!

Natchez Trace Parkway, Mile 440 Parking Lot (2 miles from northern terminus at Pasquo)

We haven't been able to ride to White Bluff in recent years because the bridge on South Harpeth just before the climb up to Kingston Springs has been under reconstruction.  Now it has been finished and is very nice!  So we'll start on the Trace and ride through Kingston Springs and westward on the scenic roads to White Bluff.  The loop from Kingston Springs to White Bluff and back has been reversed due to predicted SSW wind, so make sure you have the revised route below.  Don't forget to stop for the dramatic overlook on the left side of Lovers Leap at mile 18, from which that road gets its name! The rest stop is at the Shell station at mile 21.5 before passing through White Bluff.  Water and restrooms are also available at the park as we enter Kingston Springs at mile 36.  Going this way, Leatherwood and Cedar Hill will be easy and fun!  Then we'll climb Pinnacle Hill the easy way, head back in on CC Road and South Harpeth, and do Hester Beasley.  It's a 55-mile, fairly hilly route, but very scenic!  Larry will sweep.

The Collegial group will take a shorter 34-mile course that overlaps entirely with the long route but heads directly back from Kingston Springs and omits the extra loop out to White Bluff.  Amy Crownover will lead at a 14-16 mph pace.

Here are the maps and cue sheets:

White Bluff Wander - Long route - 55 miles - GPS
