The 2021 Scarecrow Century is this Saturday! The ride will have courses that feature Lynnville, Campbellsville, and the Amish Village around Etheridge. The riders will return to the Middle School where they can relax and take advantage of the delicious, well deserved lunch and showers.
This Century gets high praise for its quality at a low price. The cost is $35 to pre-register and $40 on the morning of the ride, but HBC members who pre-register get a $5 discount. The discount code is HARPETH.
Proceeds from this event will go to support the Columbia Composite middle school-high school mountain bike team (NICA) and trail maintenance at Chickasaw Trace Park.
For COVID-19 prevention, registration and check-in will be conducted outdoors, as will be the meal after the ride. The start will not be a mass start.

For Saturday, Durk is leading an alternate ride for those who want to stay local. While the course of 46 miles makes it to Santa Fe for a rest stop at mile 28, riders will take an interesting route to get there! There's the significant climb on Raleigh-Beard Rd., the nice run along Goshen, and the steep climb to begin Jenkins, followed by some gorgeous scenery up there. Riders will then get home by the gentle climb on Gaskill Branch, the steep descent on Skelley (exercise CAUTION), and then the nice run back up Leipers Creek. Here's the cue sheet:
