For our kickoff for Polar Bear Season, Durk is going to take us on some favorite roads down to Santa Fe via the Old Trace. It's a flatter route than normal, like last Saturday! We call it the Chestnut Challenge because we go from Bending Chestnut to Chestnut Ridge! (It's a very sad commentary that there are no chestnut trees on these roads, or anywhere else, any more. Just think - the chestnut was the most valuable tree that comprised a third of the eastern forests, and every last one was wiped out by the blight in the 1920's and 30's.)
