Hills, Heat, & Humidity for August!
Hillsboro Elementary School in Leipers Fork, 5412 Pinewood Road, Franklin 37064
Saturday looks like another hot and humid day. Bruce Green will lead a 45-mile route that first circles around by Bailey and West Harpeth to Burwood. Then it takes Mobleys Cut and Davis Hollow in the uphill direction! After that, it covers delightful South and North Licks, with Greenbriar Hill in between! There are options of 45 and 33 miles. The routes travel together to the rest stop at Burwood at mile 18. The Short route diverts from the Old Trace at mile 25 and comes in by Bending Chestnut. The Long route will start at 7:30.
We continue our Saturday Collegial Ride option, which will start at 8:00. This ride is again drawing very nice turnouts. The ride takes a shorter course for those who like to proceed at a bit calmer pace, led by experienced leaders who make sure everyone is on course, and with regrouping when appropriate. This Saturday Bob Whitmer will lead the Collegial option at a 14-15 mph pace on the 33-mile Short route.
