As the heat dome looks likely to still be with us, Tony Pile has put together westside routes that are a bit shorter, and (hopefully) shadier than normal.  There are a couple of tough climbs in Davis Hollow and Skelley Road (plus Lewis Road on the long route), but we tackle those early on and the run-in via Chestnut Ridge, Bending Chestnut, and Garrison should offer some cover from the sun.  As last week, the principal ride will start at 7:30 A.M.  Note, there is no rest stop on the Short route.  The Long route has a rest stop at the Santa Fe market at mile 19.

We continue our Collegial Ride, a group ride designed for folks who prefer a calmer pace of 14-16 mph.  The Collegial ride is less intense - in distance and pace - than the main ride.  This Saturday Amy Crownover will lead the Collegial riders on the Short route.  This ride will start at 8:00.  Here are the maps and cue sheets:
