Most appropriately, the winter solstice on Saturday is bringing in some chilly temps!  It's the shortest day of the year, of course, although (strangely) it has neither the latest sunrise nor the earliest sunset - which fortunately has already happened!   Durk has planned a very interesting Long route of 46 miles that will warm up riders with the climbs on Green Chapel, Liberty, and Backbone Ridge!  Durk is going to sweep the Short, 32-mile option that starts off the same and also does Green Chapel and Backbone Ridge.  Both routes have a rest stop at the usual Fairview market, at mile 20 of the Long route and mile 18 of the Short route.  Here are the maps and cue sheets:
