Darks Mill Diversion!
Hillsboro Elementary School, 5412 Pinewood Road, Franklin 37064
This Saturday looks like a much better day to attempt Durk's Darks Mill Diversion, which will take us down nearly to Columbia! The 47-mile route first makes the gradual climb up Sulphur Springs and the fun run down Knob Creek. Then it diverts to lovely Mahan Road and travels along Darks Mill, a nice road we haven't ridden in a while. Then it climbs Roberts Bend, which we recently descended after Deliverance country. There's a rest stop at mile 29 at Santa Fe before the Godwin climb and Skelley descent. Altogether, it's a very fun and a bit adventurous route!
For those interested in a shorter ride than still offers some challenges, the Short, 37-mile version follows the Long up Sulphur Springs and down Knob Creek but then climbs Taylor Road before the rest stop at mile 19. Then it climbs Lewis Road and joins the Long route to descend Skelley and come home on Leipers Creek. Here are the maps and cue sheets:

Taylor Tussle - Short route - 37 miles - GPS
