TUESDAY P.M GROUP RIDE
Tuesday, June 11 - 5:45 P.M.
Patterson Parade!
Patterson Baptist Church, 12787 Patterson Road, Rockvale 37153
Because the repaving of Carothers has been extended, the Tuesday evening ride will again start from the Patterson Baptist Church. And the ride will start at 5:45. Please allow extra time to make it to this location. The ride offers a flat and fast course that riders will enjoy! There are options of 28 and 34 miles. Our outstanding evening ride leaders (Fredia, Pete, and Scott) continue to monitor the situation to determine the best route each week.
The Harpeth Club has sponsored a Tuesday night ride for many years. While many racers strive for fast times on the course, more moderate riders also enjoy the ride and will accompany our ride leaders. However, this ride is NOT for novices, due to both difficulty and traffic! Mark Bartleson will lead this ride but there is no sweep, so riders are responsible for knowing the routes, as detailed below. As always, our leaders will make sure everyone who left the parking lot with our group has returned before they depart after the ride (and go looking for them if necessary).
This Tuesday's weather looks great! But when the ride has to be cancelled because of weather, Fredia will send a message by the General List. So be sure you have subscribed to that list. To do so, go to the HBC website, click on "About," then click on the right side on "Club Email and Mailing Lists," and follow the very simple instructions.
Here are the two routes for this Tuesday night. Our leaders suggest that folks try the long route, and if they get dropped, take the shortcut on the shorter route to rejoin the long group.
For safety, the racers will roll out separately if we have a particularly large turnout. We sometimes have 30-35 riders, so 50 or so might be too much for a single group that isn’t used to riding together.
