The Bicycle skills course is a GO.  Post-course ride will be determined at 11:30 AM, but should be a go.  No rain predicted until 3-5 PM.  We lucked out!

At 6:00 AM: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 3pm and 5pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Member safety is the top priority of the Harpeth Bike Club, and as a member-benefit, our training clinics over the years have provided valuable lessons and practice in three vital areas - braking and cornering, close contact riding, and paceline riding.  We are looking forward to hosting a spring Training Clinic in these skills, FREE for HBC Members, at Ravenwood High School, 1724 Wilson Pike, in Brentwood, on Sunday, May 5, from 9:00 until 11:30 A.M.  President Emeritus Graf Hilgenhurst is heading up the team of experienced riders who will be teaching each skill.  Each participant will train in all three skills.

We will NOT have a Westhaven ride this Sunday!  Instead, to support our instructors and participants at the HBC Training Clinic, this Sunday's ride will start at noon, following a brief intermission after the Clinic concludes.  Everyone can try out their newfound (or refreshed) skills!  There are options of 25, 42, and 48 miles.  The 42- and 48-mile routes go out Wilson Pike to gorgeous Osburn Road and from there take McCanless and Independent Hill to a rest stop at Almaville at mile 16.  The 42-mile route takes Coleman Hill and comes back by Cox and Wilson Pike, while the 48-miler takes Shores, Coleman Hill, Cox, McDaniel, and Trinity to North Chapel.  Meanwhile, the 25-mile route goes all the way south on Wilson Pike to Cox and comes across on McDaniel to Trinity and North Chapel.  All of these are relatively flat courses.  Here are the maps and cue sheets:
