Saturday, Feb. 4 - 10:00 A.M.
Tony's Fairview Folly!
Hillsboro Elementary School in Leipers Fork, 5412 Pinewood Road, Franklin 37064
This Saturday Tony Pile will lead a challenging ride towards Cheatham County, with lots of notable ups and downs! There are four choices of 35, 42, 50, and 58 miles, with gas station stops at 20 miles (all routes) and 32 miles (long and extra long routes). Wilkins Branch will get everyone nicely warmed up, and the route to the first stop takes us via Caney Fork and skirts Bowie Nature Park - venue for the next HBC social hike! The 42-, 50-, and 58-mile riders will enjoy CCC road in the downhill direction but must exercise extreme caution on the more than 20%-grade-descent at its end! Then the Extra Long riders can do a northern loop and tackle the climb up to CC Road and the monumental climb back up to that road on Harpeth Hills Drive - and it is more of a mountain than a hill! All except the Short riders then get the pleasure of tackling Big East before a short dismount to join the Trace for the last few miles back into Leipers Fork. Of course, the Short riders get to do Backbone Ridge! The weather looks dry and sunny, but we will start at 10:00 A.M. to avoid the worst of the cold.
