Despite the heat and thunderstorms, we're having some great holiday weekend rides! Monday, July 4 looks about the same, with afternoon storms that should favor our morning ride! We'll start at Centennial Park and head south to some scenic roads, like Manley, Moran, and the Old Trace. There's a lot of shade on the fine neighborhood roads too!
We've learned that Maryland Way will be closed because of a race. So the original route has been revised and you'll have to miss the fun of Forest Acres but can experience the equally good stretch on Kingsbury! The new route is 40 miles. We'll have a nice, well supplied rest stop at the golf pavilion in Percy Warner Park at mile 27. And we'll cover brief parts of three of our greenways!
If you're not used to riding out from town, this will be a blast! So join us and wear your red, white, and blue HBC jersey!
Monday, July 4 - 8:00 A.M.
City to Country Cruise!
Centennial Park, 2500 West End Ave., Nashville 37203 - Parking Lot on West Side of The Parthenon
For our Nashville-oriented holiday ride, we'll travel from Centennial Park to Brentwood on some nice, scenic roads, even with a few hills! We'll tour lovely Moran Road and head back through the corner of Percy Warner Park by the Steeplechase, with a rest stop at the golf pavilion. Then we'll visit Belle Meade and Hillwood (some might call this the "tour of homes") and enjoy the awesome descent on Kendall to Knob Road. We'll finish along the Richland Creek Greenway. The revised route is 40 miles.
We won't set any speed records on this course, but you can make it as hard as you like! Larry will sweep and try to keep everyone on course. Here's the revised cue sheet:
