Strong riding today on everyone's part, despite the heat! The forecast for Sunday indicates that the rain should hold off until the afternoon, so the regular HBC ride appears to be on schedule!
For those interested in a longer ride, Treasurer Dan has developed the following proposed route of 52 miles. It covers all of North and South Lick and Oscar Green, which we haven't done in a while on a weekend ride. Here's the cue sheet for that. Others will take shorter options, to be announced at the start at Westhaven at 8:00.

HBC Sunday Ride
Westhaven parking lot, 1025 Westhaven Blvd., Franklin - take Hwy. 96 west from Franklin, turn left on Westhaven Blvd., veer right onto State Blvd., and then take the very first left.
On Prime Season Sundays we will continue our rides from Westhaven. Here is a map to guide you to the parking lot at Westhaven. Westhaven Blvd. is directly across Hwy. 96 from the end of Old Charlotte at the big sign for Gentry Farm.

On most Sundays, we ride out Boyd Mill and then take the tough climb up Parker Branch. At the end of that road, various groups form for different distances and routes. It is easy to do a 25- or 30- mile route, although most regular riders will add miles along the way. Sometimes we start on the Old Pancake route over to Leipers Fork. At the start we will establish the approximate distance that various groups intend to ride. Many riders will do a 50- or 60-mile ride, improvising the route as they go along. We are trying to be a bit more organized for the longer routes and often will send a suggested route before Sunday. And sometimes we do something entirely different!
