RIDE CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN!

HBC 2021 Kickoff!
Hillsboro Elementary School, 5412 Pinewood Rd. in Leipers Fork
Since this ride was cancelled for Saturday, we'll do it on Sunday! The ride will start at 9:00 from Hillsboro School on Pinewood Road in Leipers Fork. Michael DeRoche has us meandering on mostly familiar roads in different combinations to get us all used to riding in a group again, but he's thrown in some new roads as well! The official route is 53 miles with 2,900 feet of elevation. The rest stop is at the Burwood market at mile 32. Dr. Michael will sweep the route.
Since the pro-cycling spring classics have just finished, we've added our own 1-mile Strade Bianchi segment to the route, Hunter Road, about 1 mile of well packed, easily rideable dirt. The reward will be beautiful views on Kittrell and a smooth downhill run on the new pavement of Coleman Road. Here's the cue sheet:
HBC 2021 Kickoff Ride - 53 miles - GPS
Here are options for a 44-mile route and a 61-mile route. These routes will not officially be swept.
For the 44 mile route: After turning right from Thompson Station Rd to Carter’s Creek at mile 36.5, stay straight on Carter’s Creek at mile 38.5. Do NOT turn right onto West Harpeth. Continue straight on Carter’s Creek for an additional 1.5 miles and then turn LEFT on Bear Creek and you are back on the route.
For the near Metric route (61 miles): At the top of Doug Thompson Rd turn RIGHT onto Old Natchez Trace. Take this to the end at Hwy 7. Go left down the hill and past Fly. Then turn LEFT onto Leiper’s Creek. Turn right onto Sulphur Springs and you are back on the route.
Unfortunately, conditions still do not allow for the usual food and festivities, but it will be great to see everybody!
