Some current and upcoming road closures in Williamson County and other HBC riding areas.

April 1- Sep 1:  Robinson Rd closed between Boston Theta and Johnson Hollow Rd.   EFFECT: If you drop off Bear Creek westbound, then go (L) on Robinson, you must then turn (R) on Boston Theta. If you leave the Burwood area westbound on Johnsons Hollow to Robinson Rd, you must turn (L) up Mobley's Cut. NICE!!

April 1 - Nov 1: Deer Ridge Rd closed between Valley Rd and Mangrum Rd.   EFFECT: This area is west of NT Pkwy, north of Pinewood and South of Hwy 100 in the Craigfield area. If you want to ride Deer Ridge, take South Harpeth to Mangrum which will lead to Deer Ridge. (Not personally familiar with this route)

April 29- July 1: Leipers Creek Rd closed between Mobley's Cut and Davis Hollow.  EFFECT:  This one will be a pain for us. Note that, from what they say, this will include the area where Bear Creek / Robinson Rd come out at the store on Leipers Creek. Not sure if the area from the store to Davis Hollow is truly blocked. Time will tell. Combine this with Robinson Rd closure and they are really screwing up some great routes!!

Thanks for the contribution Victor!

============================

The HBC offers rides for all levels of bicycle enthusiasts. The club rides are rated according to pace and terrain.

LEVEL TERRAIN
L-1 (10-13 mph) T-1 (flat)
L-2 (14-17 mph) T-2 (moderate)
L-3 (18+ mph) T-3 (hilly)

Guests are always welcome on Club rides. If you participate in a few rides and find them enjoyable, then you are encouraged to join the club. All guests must sign a Liability Waiver at the start of each ride. The following weekly rides occur during our ride season, which is April through October.

Saturday Road Rides: Saturday rides are typically suitable for Level 2 & 3 riders who are comfortable riding on moderate to hilly terrain. Routes and mileage are determined each week by the Ride Leader. A properly equipped road bike is recommended for most Saturday rides, as the pace is usually not suitable for mountain bikes or hybrids. Occasionally Level 1 rides are also offered on Saturdays. Please consult the Ride Schedule for each week's ride information.

Sunday Road Rides: The Sunday morning ride is known as the "Pancake Ride". All ride levels are welcome on this ride that begins at Hunters Bend Elementary School and travels 13 miles on moderately hilly terrain to Leipers Fork. Riders typically regroup in Leipers Fork and eat breakfast. The route to/from Leipers Fork is marked on the pavement, and maps and cue sheets are available from the Ride Leader. Following a pancake breakfast at Puckett's in Leipers Fork, many riders often choose to add additional miles at a L-2 / L-3 pace. Level 1 riders and others choosing to return to Hunters Bend Elementary School retrace the 13 mile route back to the starting point.

PANCAKE RIDE BEGINS at 9AM before Memorial Day, and 8AM through the summer until Labor Day where it starts back at 9AM!
