Guide to Using the HBC Calendar

Thanks for your interest in the calendar. It's a very important component to the function of the HBC website, and important to the activities our club members enjoy! We have a few tips to make your experience more effective.

CATEGORIES:

MAIN CATEGORIES:
Advocacy	This category is for area advocacy opportunities that are time sensitive.
Area Rides	Other clubs in the area can submit their events here.
Beginners Event	These are opportunities identified for those that take their time.
Club Rides	Official club rides. These have ride leaders and everyone follows the HBC rules.
General Events	Doesn't fall into any other category, but members should know about it. Can be used for training seminars.
Social Events	Our social director normally posts these, but members can submit requests here.
Tandem	Special events for those cyclists that like to ride close. Sometimes half bikes are welcome, sometimes not.
Unofficial Ride	Members can submit their unofficial ride here, but they might or might not be posted.

ULTRA CATEGORIES:

Long Distance Area Rides	These are rides around the southeast or even farther where Middle Tennessee long distance riders are going to ride.
Middle TN Brevet	Middle Tennessee Brevet events in the area.
Middle TN Ultra	Middle Tennessee Ultra events in the area.

Submitting an Event:

When you're viewing the calendar, you'll see a + sign in the upper right corner. When you submit your event, make sure you pick the proper category, include valid contact information, and your event will be sent to the calendar owner for editing or approval. Events must be cycling related, HBC mission oriented or be a benefit to Harpeth Bike Club members.

iCAL Feeds:

If you want to import the HBC calendar into Outlook, Google Calendar or other calendars, the HBC calendar has the capability! Here's where you can to find the ical files for Main Calendar and Ultra (found on the Details link at the top of the calendar.) We have to leave it up to you to find the instructions on how to configure your calendar software to do that.
