A Permanent is similar to a Brevet, but you can ride it at any time, not just on one specific date. Like Brevets, routes can start and finish at the same location, or they can also be run point-to-point, and they can be any distance of 200km or more. Permanent Populairs are routes of 100-199km. Permanents are open only to RUSA members. They can be ridden alone or with a group. Permanent rides in the US are validated by RUSA and do not count toward any ACP awards or medals, or qualifying towards PBP, but a Permanent can count toward your yearly RUSA Brevet kilometer totals. Important Note: These Permanent Rides are NOT organized by the Harpeth Bicycle Club and are only listed here as a convenience for the Route Organizers. All aspects of these Permanent Rides are the responsibility of the individual Route Organizers listed below.

Registration:
To register for a Permanent, select a Route from the list above and contact its Organizer. The Organizer will agree with you on a ride date, and send you an application and a liability waiver. You will return the application and liabilty waiver along with any fee to the Organizer. The Organizer will then supply you with a brevet card, cue sheet, and any other pertinent information.
Also, for insurance purposes, you must be a member of Randonneurs USA (RUSA). The RUSA Membership Application can be found on their website. Riders will not be allowed to start a Permanent unless they are a RUSA member.
